Hamilton Crossings

Hamilton Crossings is a 560,000 square foot shopping center located on Rt. 222 in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Opened in 2017, the center is anchored by Target and the first Costco and Whole Foods in the Lehigh Valley. Hamilton Crossings is an example of modern retail design where specific attention is paid to tenant mix, building design, community spaces and other features to support the long-term success of the project in the on-line shopping age. The project was developed in coordination with TCH Development and The Goldenberg Group.

Development Challenges:

  • Remediation of “mine wash” material throughout the property that rendered the site undevelopable

  • Identification and coordinated approval of significant transportation improvements along the Rt. 222 bypass

  • Resolution of the pre-existing flood conditions impacting the site and the surrounding area

  • Acquisition of $18 million in various grants, loans and other forms of public assistance to help defray the cost of the required public improvements

Awards

  • 2017 “Project of the Year” from March of Dimes Commercial & Industrial Real Estate

  • 2017 “Best Shopping Mall of the Valley” from Lehigh Valley Magazine

  • 2017 “Vision Award” from Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce
